Mooo! -- I mean, Boo!

Last week, my good friend and I went on a mini Halloween photo session with our kids. Doesn't her little one make the cutest cow ever?? I think that the little cow's big brother makes a very handsome knight, too!

An Autumn Family

This family was so much fun to photograph! Their two boys were both totally adorable (look at those eyes!) and the oldest was smiling in almost every picture.

Beautiful Baby Girl

This adorable little 3-month old's session was just before I left on vacation, so I just finished working on her photos. Isn't she a doll!? She was such a sweet baby, and so much fun to photograph.

Back From Vacation!

So, my parents and brothers had been planning this vacation forever, and they had been trying to convince me to come -- the day before they left, they talked me into it! I'm glad they did. We went to visit my wonderful aunt in Washington, and then we all went to the Oregon coast together. It was a little chilly, but so much fun. I took like 900 pictures, so here is a very small sampling of the things we got to see and do. The top photo is at a beautiful rest area in Oregon - the next one is at the house we stayed at on the Oregon coast (yes, that's the ocean in the window!) - the third one is at another rest area in Oregon - the fourth is of course the Oregon coast - the next one is a replica of the Stonehenge monument in Washington - the next one is my little boy at my aunt's house; she lives way out in the country, it's so beautful out there - the next one is on the coast - and the last two are the ocean.

So anyway, that's where I've been. I am working hard to catch up on all my client proofs - so keep watching, I'll post them as soon as I get them finished.

And the Winners Are . . .

Okay, so I did the drawing, and the winners are Deb, Megevans, Whitney, Rachel, and Brenda. So, if you five want to email me your mailing addresses, I can get these sent off to you. Congrats to the winners!

Also, QuickPro Camera Guides makes lots of other camera-specific DVDs. They're all pretty basic, but they're great for first time DSLR owners. In the comments, someone asked me how they could purchase the DVD if they didn't win - the owner of QuickPro Camera Guides is a good friend of mine, so I have the ability to sell them. All of the DVDs are $24.95, with free shipping. I'm trying to get a website set up to sell the DVDs, but until then, if you'd like a copy of Digital 201, or any of the other camera-specific DVDs, you can paypal $24.95 to phototips@alexismiller.com .

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in the contest! Check back here often, because I plan to do another drawing for the Photoshop Elements 101 CD later this month!

QuickPro Camera Guides - Digital 201

I have mentioned several times lately that I've been working lots for QuickPro Camera Guides. One of the projects that I've been working on was just released! Digital 201 - it's full of lighting tips and scenarios for beginning and intermediate photographers - basic exposure, white balance, using natural light, and when & how to use a flash. I wrote chapters 7-14 of the script and took lots of the example images in the DVD.

I have 5 DVDs to give away. If you want one, comment on this post before 12:00 midnight MST on October 10, 2007. I'll draw 5 names and send them each a copy of Digital 201 - Everyday Lighting & Exposure.

Christmas is Coming . . .

... and I finally have the 2007 Greeting Card Templates ready. Here is a preview - you can view the rest at AlexisMiller.com. They're all fairly simple, and I can change the color schemes if you have something else in mind. On a similiar note; December 8, 2007 is the last day for sessions this year. Photos from sessions on or before December 8 can be ready in time for Christmas. I will start taking sessions again on January 7, 2008.
